Historique de la Statue

Depuis 1984, elle est classée patrimoine mondial de l'UNESCO. Elle a été réalisée par le français Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi en 1886 et l’ingénieur de cette statue est Gustave Eiffel. Il a aidé Bartholdi notamment pour la réalisation de la structure métallique interne. Inaugurée le 28 octobre 1886 et don de la France aux États-Unis, sa réplique est posée à Paris devant le port de Grenelle. De nos jours, elle accueille environ 4 millions de visiteurs par an.

Son architecture 

La statue de la liberté mesure 46,05 mètres de haut sans le socle et avec son socle elle mesure 93 mètres. Elle porte à gauche la déclaration d'indépendance du 4 juillet 1776, et tend la célèbre torche dorée avec sa main droite faite de feuilles d’or de 24 carats. .C'est une statue d'architecture néoclassique, son piédestal est en béton et granite, son revêtement en cuivre et sa structure est en acier. Pour accéder à la vue sur Manhattan il faut aller dans la couronne et monter ses 354 marches

Quelques anecdotes 

 - La tête de la statue a été présentée a l'exposition universelle de Paris en 1878.
- Il y a 25 fenêtres sur la couronne.
- Les septs piques de la couronne représentent les septs océans et les sept continents du monde --300 différents types de marteaux ont été utilisés pour créer la structure de cuivre.
- La mère de l'architecte a servi de modèle pour le visage de cette statue.

Historical of the statue 

Since 1984, it has been classified as World Heritage by UNESCO. It was made by the French Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi in 1886 and the engineer of this statue is Gustave Eiffel. He helped Bartholdi especially for the realization of the internal metal structure. Inaugurated on October the 28th 1886, this statue is a gift from France to the United States. His reply is placed in Paris in front of the port of Grenelle. Nowadays, it welcomes around 4 million visitors a year.

The architecture 

The Statue of Liberty measures 46.05 meters high without the base and with its base it measures 93 meters. The statue of liberty holds on the left of the declaration of independence of July 4 1776, and tends the famous golden torch with its right hand. It is a neoclassical architecture statue, its pedestal is concrete and granite, Its copper coating and its structure is made of steel. To access the view of Manhattan you have to go into the crown and climb the 354 steps.

- The seven peaks of the crown represent the seven oceans and the seven continents of the world
